“Our son is a completely self-directed learner now... and he loves to read for fun! That was not the case before Surf Term”

—Michael P. (father of a son who’s attended both Surf Term and Powder Term)

“Do it! It's a transformative experience at a time in their life when they need it most. Your child will come back a better, more evolved, more confident version of themselves.”

—Prentice H. (father of a daughter who’s attended both Surf Term and Powder Term and another daughter who’s attended Powder Term)

“We trust the program owners implicitly. Our daughter has been to two "terms" now - Powder and Surf Term. They were both very different experiences but the outcome was the same - it was impactful and has changed her vantage point tremendously.”

—Natalie H. (mother of a daughter who’s attended both Surf Term and Powder Term and another daughter who’s attended Powder Term)

“I can see improvement in our son’s maturity and organization and that's great.  However, the most impressive change I have seen is in his willingness to be different and embrace his unique view of the world.  We have had more conversations about the things he cares about and why the kids at school seem not to care about respect others or schoolwork.  I think he has more confidence to see his interests as important and something worth working for.”

—Mike M. (father of a son and daughter who both attended Surf Term)

“Our Son has gained a significant amount of independence. He now takes the lead with his learning and knows that with access to the internet he can really figure anything out on his own. His math has significantly improved with the self-paced model, and he has decided to teach himself electric guitar via Yousician, something I don't think he would have done on his own without the Surf Term experience."

—Erin P. (mother of a son who’s attended Surf Term and Powder Term)

"Surf Term has made our son a more curious person! He is asking WHY questions. He is curious about things going on in the world. He is curious about how my day was. The gift of curiosity is a special thing for anyone to have!"

—Jennifer L. (mother of a son who attended Surf Term)

“This was an amazing experience for my son and it was an adventure of a lifetime! Im grateful for all of your guidance and support through this beautiful process of human development in our children.”

—Marie N. (mother of a son who attended Surf Term)

"I could write a lot here and will summarize with the parts of our son’s character that we have seen the most impact: Independence, Discipline, Empathetic, Kind, Curious. For ex, He never asked me before now "How was your day at work Dad? What did you do?" or doing the dishes without being asked :) or asking us to take his phone away when he needs to complete homework so he is focused."

—Mark L. (father of a son who attended Surf Term)

"The experience Surf Term provides is unlike any other experience you can provide for your child. They will get to go discover a whole part of themselves on their own without influence of their family or friends. They will come away with a deep trust in themeselves of what they are capable of and how to navigate their world. Additionally, Surf Term opens their eyes to a more global view of the world, showing them that they are a part of something bigger than just themselves."

—Elizabeth S. (mother of a daughter who attended Surf Term)
